Gholam Reza Aghazadeh

Gholam Reza Aghazadeh (born 15 March 1949 in Khoy, Iran) is an Iranian politician, Vice - President of Iran and was from 1997 until 16 July 2009 Head of the Iranian Atomic Energy Organization ( AEOI ). Previously, he was from 1985 to 1997 in charge of the petroleum ministry.

In an interview with the Financial Times Germany in 2005 Aghazadeh said Iran was not willing to negotiate with the EU on a permanent suspension of uranium enrichment. [ ... ] We expect the European countries that they keep their promises and transfer nuclear technology and authorize uranium enrichment in Iran. In an interview on 13 April 2006 Aghazadeh indicated towards the Iranian television that Iran had already produced 110 tons of uranium hexafluoride to uranium enrichment.

Aghazadeh comes after the EU Council decision of 23 April 2007 implementing Article 7, paragraph 2 of Regulation ( EC) No 423/ 2007 concerning restrictive measures against Iran on the "black list ".
