Giacinto Berloco

Giacinto Berloco ( born August 31, 1941 in Altamura, Bari, Italy) is a Roman Catholic archbishop and diplomat of the Holy See.

Life

After studying Catholic theology and philosophy Giacinto Berloco received on 19 March 1966, the sacrament of Holy Orders. Berloco was incardinated in the Diocese of Altamura - Gravina - Acquaviva delle Fonti. He received his doctorate in Catholic theology and earned a Licentiate in Canon Law.

1972 Giacinto Berloco entered the diplomatic service of the Holy See. He served in the Apostolic Nunciature in Costa Rica, the Netherlands and Spain as well as in the Vatican Secretariat of State. On September 5, 1974 he was awarded by Pope Paul VI. the honorary title of Chaplain of His Holiness ( Monsignor ) and on June 24, 1985 Pope John Paul II awarded him the title of Honorary Prelate of His Holiness.
