GIADS

GIADS - stands for German Improved Air Defence System and the Air Command and Control System (ACC system / AC2 - system ) of the insert and Control Service of the Luftwaffe ( EinsFüDstLw ).

Definition

For aerial surveillance, the management of air operations, and with the aim of fulfilling the military deployment job is GIADS as a full combat management system ( GefFüSys, including command and weapon deployment system for the Air Force - FüWES Lw ) of the EinsFüDstLw in the stationary Control and Reporting Centre ( CRC) and the Deployable CRC ( DCRC ) used by the Luftwaffe of the Bundeswehr operational.

History

Until 2000, the EinsFüDstLw was used as a standard FüWES the ACC system ARKONAPLATZ. Then gradually carried out its replacement by the successor system GIADS. In July 2000, went with GIADS l in Schoenewalde the first GIADS CRC in operational use. Since that time GIADS was updated, refined and improved. Since the end of 2010 now GIADS lll is in use.

The RefFüSys GIADS III shall be replaced by the joint NATO project Air Command and Control System ( ACCS ).

  • Automatic selection of the best each sensor by multi-sensor tracking
  • Significantly improved hunter guiding function
  • NATO Link 16 capability (for now over Beistelllösung )
  • Better support (eg air emergencies, airspace violations critical Flying Objects )
  • Data exchange in combination with up to 24 external ACC systems
  • Increase IT security

Utilization line

The WaSysKdo Lw is responsible for the GIADS utilization line. There also obsolescence management, configuration control and commissioning performed software maintenance / software change ( SWMM ).
