Gianluca Bortolami

Gianluca Bortolami ( born August 28, 1968) is a former Italian cyclist, the 1990 pro. Most recently, he drove for the team Lampre- Caffita 2005.

He took part in the seven times Tour de France, where his best individual finish was (1994 ) a 13th place. In this year he also celebrated a victory in this tour.

Among his other achievements include winning the Tour of Piedmont in 1997, winning the Tour of Flanders in 2001, a stage win in the Tour de Suisse in the same year. In 2002 he won the mountain stage of the Tour of Germany, and in 2004 the tour Giro di Romagna. In 1994 he won the World Cup.

As part of the trial of Dr. Michele Ferrari confessed Bortolami 1998 to have doped with Epo. In 2003 he was banned for doping six months by the Italian Cycling Federation.
