Gianni Infantino

Gianni Infantino ( born March 23 1970 in Brig ) is a Swiss lawyer and Secretary General of the Association of European Football Associations ( UEFA ).

Life

Prior to joining the UEFA Infantino was as Secretary General of the International Centre for Sports Studies ( CIES ) at the University of Neuchâtel consultant to various national and international football bodies. Active from August 2000, UEFA, he held various positions, including as of January 2004, the Head of the Legal and licensing department. From February 1 to May 2007 Lars-Christer Olsson interim CEO of UEFA was after the resignation of Sweden (followed by the Scots David Taylor), then Deputy Secretary General was appointed. Since 1 October 2009, he is, again as a successor to David Taylor, general secretary.

Infantino is married and father of four children. He speaks German, Italian, French, English and Spanish and has next to the Swiss and Italian citizenship.
