Gibbs Quadski

The Gibbs Quadski is an amphibious vehicle that combines the features of a quad and a jet ski. It was developed by the native New Zealander Alan Gibbs. The company Gibbs Technologies, which produces the vehicle, has its headquarters in the English county of Warwickshire near Coventry.

On land and at sea the Quadski achieved with its 1.3-liter four-cylinder engine (BMW, 128 kW / 175 PS ) 72 km / h The vehicle weighs 590 kg and its maximum torque is 140 Nm. The Quadski is driven through a water jet propulsion. As with the Gibbs Aquada or when Gibbs Humdinga fold the wheels by pressing a button, and the quad turns in five seconds in a jet ski. This mechanism is locked during operation in the "land " mode and will only be activated when the vehicle is in the " water " mode. This ensures that the wheels do not fold inwards while driving in the country. The range on land is, according to the manufacturer's instructions 600 km. In water, the vehicle is to move forward two hours.

The manufacturer has logged in 15 years 300 patents for the vehicle. The Quadski was built in small series in 2006 and must be purchased as a production vehicle in the U.S. since 2012 in a revised version. In Europe, the market for 2014 is planned.
