The Pharmaceutical University Gifu (Japanese岐阜 薬 科 大学, Gifu yakka daigaku; engl Gifu Pharmaceutical University, in short. GPU) is an urban university in Japan. Since April 2010, the university administration is on the campus of the Medical Faculty of the State University Gifu ( Daigaku - nishi, Gifu in Gifu Prefecture ).

History

Founded in 1932 as the University of Gifu Pharmaceutical Trade School (岐阜 薬 学 専 门 学校, Gifu Yakugaku Semmon Gakko ). She was the first urban pharmaceutical colleges in Japan. The university developed in 1949 to Pharmaceutical University Gifu. 1953 she founded the Master's programs in 1965 then the doctor courses. In the same year they moved to the present Mitahora campus. In 1998 she founded the affiliated pharmacy.

In recent years, the University cooperates with the State University of Gifu. In 2007, she founded the joint doctoral courses (United Graduate School of Drug Discovery and Medical Information Sciences, Gifu University). In October 2009 a new school building Pharmaceutical University was opened on the campus of the Medical Faculty of the University of Gifu, and the university administration drew 2010 in the new building.
