The Gigg Lane is a football stadium in Bury, Greater Manchester, England. It was built for the football club Bury FC in 1885 and has since been the home of the club. The first football game at the stadium was held on September 12, 1885 instead of between Bury and Wigan Athletic, the Bury FC won 4-3. The stadium has since 1953 floodlights, although the first floodlit game in 1889 took place when the football league had not admitted any permission for floodlights. Today, the stadium has a space of 11,840 seats.

Capacity

In the 1940s, the stadium had a capacity of 40,000 spectators while the present capacity is 11,840 seats. The attendance record at Gigg Lane was erected on January 1, 1937 the match between FC Blackpool and Bury FC with 34 386 visitors.
