Gilsdorf

Gilsdorf ( Lux: Gilsdref ) is a district of the municipality of Luxembourg Bettendorf. In the village of 1028 inhabitants ( April 20, 2012 ).

The village lies in the valley of the acid on the south side of the river, which is spanned in place of an approximately 90 -meter-long bridge. Between river and spot the early 1960s disused railway line ran from Ettelbruck to Grevenmacher, had a breakpoint at the Gilsdorf. Gilsdorf is known for the high quality sandstone which was mined in numerous quarries.
