Gimbach Kelkheim

Name

The name part ' Gim ' is derived from the names of the men Ginno. The name " Gynnenbach " is first mentioned in 1287. It means " the brook of Ginno ".

Course

The Gimbach occurs west of Kelkheim from three source streams, which south and north of the traditional country restaurant courtyard Gimbach, arise. The three source streams unite still west of the road to Gimbacher yard. The brook runs along the outskirts of Kelkheim, north of Gimbacherweges, through fields and meadows corridors, up to the road it reaches the Försterteich reason, the town site of Kelkheim. There the Gimbach from the left side by a small stream from the nature reserve is amplified Barthel Steiner reason. At the corner Gundel Hardtstraße / Altkönigstraße the Gimbach flows only on underground in the sewers.
