Gimnástica de Torrelavega

Gimnástica de Santander ( Complete name: Real Sociedad de Gimnástica Torrelavega ) is a Spanish football club based in the Cantabrian town of Torrelavega. The club, founded in 1907 is set in the 2007/ 08 season in the Tercera División, Group III.

History

On September 28, 1907 Gabino Teira called all the athletes, business people and interested people from Torrelavega to realize his idea of ​​a common sports club. Among them were football players, discus throwers, cyclists, bowlers and many more. The meeting led to the founding of the association.

The first game of Gimnástica took place against Racing Santander on August 2, 1908. The best finish in a season, the club reached the fourth place in the Segunda División 1949 /50. In his history Torrelavega could throw some first division of the Copa del Rey, even 0-0 at the Camp Nou in the great FC Barcelona succeeded.

For the first time 1928/29, Torrelavga played second-rate, but increased from the same in the inaugural season. Stadium
