Gimone
The Gimone at Larrazet
The Gimone is a river in France, which runs in the Midi-Pyrénées region. It rises on the plateau of Lannemezan, in the municipality of Saint- Loup -en- Comminges, drained generally north to northwest and flows after 136 kilometers in the municipality of Castelferrus, just south of Castelsarrasin, as a left tributary of the Garonne. On their way they touched the Haute- Garonne, Hautes -Pyrenees, Gers and Tarn -et -Garonne. Because it leads to droughts little water, it is - as most of the rivers on the plateau of Lannemezan - irrigated; in their case by the Canal de la Gimone et de l' Arrats, which in turn gets its water from the Canal de la Neste.
