Ginga Nagareboshi Gin

Ginga Nagareboshi Gin (Japanese银牙-流れ星 銀- ) is a manga series by Yoshihiro Takahashi, which appeared from 1983 to 1987 in about 3300 pages. The manga, which also includes a 21- episode anime television series was, was originally designed especially for boys and can thus assign the shōnen genus. 1999 appeared the sequel Ginga Densetsu Weed.

Action

The Akita Inu Puppy gin (银German Silver) leaves his owner Daisuke, to join a pack of wild dogs. The pack is looking strong dogs from all over Japan to fight against the dangerous bear Akakabuto (赤 カブトGerman Red helmet) and his minions. They have to overcome many difficulties, in which gin often grows beyond itself. Gin fast furious when it comes to unnecessarily kill, leading the fight against Akakabuto. Gin's father, Riki, who has previously clashed with Akakabuto and has since suffered from amnesia, dies in this fight.

Characters

Gin and his family

  • Gin ( Akita Inu ) Gin leads the dogs in the fight against Akakabuto. He is loyal and brave, but somewhat stubborn. He will get angry easily when it comes to unnecessarily kill. Because of this, he gets more often with John together.
  • Riki ( Akita Inu ) Gin's father. At the beginning of the series it was believed that he was killed by Akakabuto. However, he survived and since then suffers from amnesia. He was the leader of a pack of wild dogs that live in the mountains.
  • Fuji ( Akita Inu ) Gin's mother. She plays only a small role, but it seems to be very concerned about their three puppies.
  • Shiro ( Akita Inu ) Gin's grandfather. He died when he was with Akakabuto down a ravine rushed to kill him, which he did not succeed. He only appears in the first episode of the anime.
  • Gin's siblings ( Akita Inu ) They are mentioned neither in the anime nor in the manga name. Unofficially, they are often called Giyan and Hiya -n. Gohei Takeda did not consider suitable for bear dogs, because they showed no aggression towards his blows with a stick, which is why he chose only gin for the training.
  • Ben ( German Mastiff ) One of Riki's group leaders. He is unusually strong, but he was blinded by a poison trap the leader of the dogs of Iga, Akame, who thought that Ben's group were friendly with his opponent Kurojaki. Despite the blindness he repeatedly risked his life for the rest of the pack in the fight.
  • Cross ( Saluki ) The only female in the pack and a strong fighter. Previously she had been left alone by their owner to die after Akakabuto had killed the rest of his hunting dogs. She joined the pack and fell in love with Ben, who soon became her partner. They had three pups: Ken, George and Minnie. Ken and George play a major role in Ginga Densetsu Weed.

Publications

The manga was released in Japan from 1983 to 1987 in individual chapters in the weekly manga magazine Shōnen Jump and developed at this time to one of the most popular series of the magazine. The Shueisha Publishing House brought this single chapter out in 18 anthologies. Later editions were published in eight and ten volumes. The book releases Ginga Nagareboshi Gin to sold in Japan over ten million times.

Awards

The manga won the 1987 Shogakukan Manga Award in the shōnen category.

Filming

In the animation studio Toei Animation 21 episodes emerged, each with a duration of about 25 minutes an animated series based on Takahashi's manga. Tomoharu Katsumata directed by. The series was broadcast on 7 April to 22 September 1986 to the Japanese broadcaster TV Asahi, but could not the success of the comic book series and former dog adventures in anime form ( like anime Yasei no Sakebi ) connect.
