The Gingee (also: Gingy, Tamil: செஞ்சி ஆறு Cenci Aru [ seɲʒi ɑ ː rɯ ] ) is a 79 km long river in South India. It occurs west of the town Gingee in Viluppuram district of the state of Tamil Nadu by the union of two source rivers, one of which in the Pakkamalai mountains and rises in the Malayanur Mountains. The Gingee flows in an easterly direction and uses the inflows Nariar, Tondiar and Pambaiyar on. After a little more than half the distance of the river enters the territory of the district of Puducherry ( Pondicherry ) is a Union Territory of the same name. About six kilometers from its mouth divides the Gingee in the mouth and arms Ariankuppam Chunnambar (also: Kilinjalar ). The two branches of the river flow south of Pondicherry in the Bay of Bengal.

The Gingee is a periodic flow, that is, it usually leads only during the rainy season from October to December water.
