Giovanni Alberto Ristori

Giovanni Alberto Ristori (* 1692 may in Bologna, † February 7, 1753 in Dresden) was an Italian composer, organist and conductor of the late Baroque.

Life

Giovanni Alberto Ristori was the son of Italian actor Tomaso Ristori and came up with this to the Saxon court, when he was there as head of the Italian troupe employment. Giovanni Alberto Ristori was a skilful composer, piano and organ player and was built in 1717 hired as " Compositeur " the Italian Hofschauspiel. Ristori was also the Head of the " Polish Capelle ", which was built in 1717 mainly for the purpose to accompany the king instead of the royal electoral chapel to Poland. Ristori in 1733 was made a chamber organist of the church in 1746 and 1750, he was appointed composer Johann Adolph Hasse under Vice- Kapellmeister.

Work

The royal music collection in Dresden was in possession of a large number of his works, including eleven full measuring, three shows without Credo, Gloria five (four of which doppelchörig ), 21 motets, three Requiems, twenty psalm settings and three oratorios. Ristori also created 19 works for the stage, 16 cantatas, several arias, concertos and a textbook Esercizi per l' Accompagnamento. Most attention should be paid his comic operas, which are expected in northern Germany to the earliest creations of the opera buffa, especially Calandro (1726) and Un pazzo ne fà cento, Don Quixote ovvero ( 1727).
