Giovanni Guidetti

Giovanni Guidetti ( born September 20, 1972 in Modena, Italy) is the coach of the German national volleyball team of women.

Career

Guidetti coached from 1995 to 1998 in his home the club Spezzano, with which he ascended to the first division in 1997. He was honored as " Coach of the Year " for this success.

From 1997 to 2000 he also acted as assistant coach of the Italian national team. During this time he participated in the 1998 World Cup and the Olympic Games in Sydney.

After working at USPV in the U.S. in the 2000/2001 season, he returned as manager of Vicenza in Italy. In parallel with its ongoing commitment to 2003, he coached first the B team of the USA ( 2002) and then the selection of Bulgaria.

In the 2003 /04 season he was coach of Modena, then he moved to Chieri, where he was honored again in 2004 with the title "Coach of the Year" and in 2005 won the Top Teams Cup. As national coach Hee Wan Lee resigned from his post due to disagreements with the Bundesliga clubs, the German Volleyball Federation Guidetti committed in April 2006 for the women's national team, with which he participated in the World Cup in Japan and reached number eleven.

Since 2008, national coach Guidetti is also Technical Director at Turkish club Güneş Sigorta Vakıfbank İstanbul.

At the World Championships in Japan in 2010, he reached with the German women finished seventh the best placement for 16 years. A year later he won the women's national team at the European Volleyball Championship 2011 in Serbia and Italy the silver medal, as well as at the European Championships in 2013 in Germany and Switzerland.

In the 2012/13 season Guidetti won with Istanbul to 47 wins in a row unbeaten the Turkish Cup, the Champions League and the Turkish Cup.
