Giovanni Lombardi
Giovanni Lombardi ( born June 26, 1969 in Pavia, Lombardy ) is an Italian former racing cyclist.
Lombardi was in 1992 when Team Lampre- Fondital pro and is in the service of Bjarne Riis since 2005. His specialty is the mass sprint. In this way, he already won in his third year as a pro two stages of the Vuelta a Murcia and the Tour de Suisse.
In 1997, Lombardi Team Telekom, now T-Mobile team. He was team-mate Jan Ullrich, who won the Tour de France in the year. However, he was only obliged to support Erik Zabel. In 2002, Lombardi returned to his homeland to go in the service of Mario Cipollini. In 2006 he took part in the Tour de France for the fourth time. His best result was the 105th in 1995. According to the 2006 season, he finished his career as an active cyclist. He is currently working for various professionals and managers, among others, the Luxembourg - Second Tour Andy Schleck.
