Girl Friends (manga)

We both! (Japanese GIRLFRIENDS ) is a manga series of Japanese illustrator Milk Morinaga, which appeared from 2006 to 2010 in Japan. It is classified in the genre Yuri and was adapted as a radio play.

Content

The girl Mariko Kumakura (熊 仓 真理 子) is indeed best in class, but has no friends. She's shy and polite, at school mostly alone. As, however, the self-confident and attractive Akiko Ōhashi (大桥 亜 希 子) befriends her, changes Mariko, is open and wins friends. But she cherishes soon deeper feelings for Akiko. To distract them, they looks for a friend. But be aware of their feelings for Akiko only really Mariko. Finally, Akiko is now jealous of her friend and noticed that it too has fallen in love.

Publication

The manga was published from October 2006 to August 2010 in his manga magazine Comic High! ( Vol 19 to Vol 65) of the Japanese publishing Futabasha. The chapters were then grouped into five anthologies ( tankōbon ).

Sharp Point Press brought the series in Taiwan in Chinese out JManga as a digital edition in English and Japanese, Seven Seas Entertainment in the U.S. in English, Taifu Comics in French and Palma Press in Russian. A German translation appeared in May 2012-July 2013 full by Carlsen Verlag.

Radioplay

Directed by Midori Shimazawa a radio drama adaptation of the manga, which was published on January 28, 2011 in Japan on CD was recorded.
