Gisilia

Gisilia is a genus of butterflies of the family splendor butterfly ( Cosmopterigidae ).

Features

The head of the moth is beschuppt fitting. The sensors are 2/3 as long as the forewing. The snout is moderately long and scaly at the base. The sensor base member ( scape ) extends distally slightly. The labial palps are bent cylindrical and upward. The forewings are lanceolate and sometimes have two incomplete bonding and before the Apex two opposite spots. The hind wings are very narrow and about a third as wide as the front wings.

In the male the uncus is missing, the Tegumen is very short and narrow triangular. The Valven are asymmetrically divided into two praise. You have a different shape and are distally covered with coarse bristles. The Vinculum is band-shaped. The aedeagus is long and sclerotized, Cornuti are not available.

In females, the anal papillae are fused and sclerotized. The apophyses are long and strong, both pairs are the same length. The ostium is large and located at the anterior margin of the seventh sternite offset to the left. The genital plate is complex and provided at the ostium with a number of curved and strongly sclerotized folds. The ductus bursae is membranous and occasionally provided with a sclerotized inner band. The corpus bursae is either membranous or he has a fine net-like structure. The Signum is tooth- shaped.

Dissemination

The representatives of the genus are widespread in the Mediterranean region, Africa and the Middle East to Pakistan and India.

Biology

Little is known about the biology of the species. The caterpillars of a species was found acacia (Acacia ).
