Giuseppe Rensi

Giuseppe rensi ( born May 31, 1871 in Villafranca di Verona, † February 14, 1941 in Genoa ) was an Italian philosopher.

Work

Rensi taught as a professor at the University of Genoa and was considered representative of relativism and as supporters of the conservative revolution in Italy. In his 1920 written font Filosofia dell'autorità he justified the need for a violence -based authority with the absolute irreconcilability of worldviews, only such authority could create order in society. He was initially a supporter of the rise of fascism in Italy. With his work Apologia dell'ateismo but he was opposed to Mussolini in 1925 and was among the supporters of the written by Benedetto Croce in the same year manifesto against fascism. He was suspended from his teaching position in 1927 and 1930 arrested. He was released finally in 1934, after he published another critical writings.
