Giuseppe Sciacca

Giuseppe Sciacca ( born February 23, 1955 in Catania, Italy ) is a Curia Bishop of the Roman Catholic Church.

Life

Giuseppe Sciacca received on 7 October 1978 in Aci Catena ordination. He studied Catholic theology in Catania and the Pontifical Lateran University. At the Angelicum, he completed a doctoral study of canon law. Sciacca received his doctorate at the University of Catania to the doctor of philosophy. He was professor of philosophy and history at the State University in Acireale and canon law at the Theological College in Acireale. He was a judge at the diocesan and regional dishes in Sicily. Sciacca was appointed on 25 March 1999 by Pope John Paul II as a judge of the ecclesiastical court of the Roman Rota.

Pope Benedict XVI. September 3, 2011 appointed him Titular Bishop of Victoriana and General Secretary of the Governorate of Vatican City and hence Deputy Prime Minister of the Vatican State. He received his episcopal consecration Cardinal Secretary of State Tarcisio Bertone SDB, on 8 October of the same year; Were co-consecrators Gianfranco Ravasi and Curia Cardinal Archbishop Giuseppe Bertello. On November 10, 2012 he was appointed titular bishop of Fundi.
