Giv'atayim

Giv ʿ atajim (Hebrew גבעתיים, Arabic جفعاتايم, DMG Ǧif ʿ atayim ) is a city in Israel. It is located east of Tel Aviv and the Gush Dan metropolitan area is part of the. The city's name means " two hills ", as the town center is located between two hills. The summit of a third hill is the highest point of Gush Dan, 80 m above sea level. The quality of life in Giv ʿ atajim is one of the highest in Israel. Although it lies in the center of the bustling Gush Dan in the middle, has the city on relatively quiet roads and neighborhoods.

History

Giv ʿ atajim was founded in 1922 by a group of immigrants 2.Alija under David Schneiderman. After several neighboring settlements were incorporated, Giv ʿ atajim received the status of a local council in August 1942. In 1959 Giv ʿ atajim the status of a municipality.
