Gjárfoss

Gjáin ( Icelandic: " the ravine " ) is a valley with numerous waterfalls in southern Iceland. Nearby is the historic courtyard Stöng. At the end of the gorge is the waterfall Gjárfoss.

On the way from Stöng to the gorge is possible now and then a view of the volcano Hekla.

A 5-6 hour hike leads to Háifoss, the second highest waterfall of Iceland.
