GLAM (industry sector)

GLAM is an English acronym for " Galleries, Libraries, Archives, Museums ," ie, cultural institutions, and memory organizations. GLAMS are often funded by the state, publicly accountable institutions that collect cultural heritage.

The term GLAM was created when these institutions realized that their role and objectives coincide, so a need for a broader grouping came. This was especially evident when they have put their collections of art, books, documents and artifacts online, and this acted as similar information.

GLAMS have the task to keep the plants and the researchers make these primary sources accessible.
