Glaser-Dirks DG-300
The DG- 300 Elan is a single-seat high performance glider made of glass fiber reinforced plastic (GRP ), which was in the default class ( with 15 m wingspan, fixed wing profile and retractable landing gear ) are used. Was constructed, the DG- 300 by Wilhelm Dirks, made by the Slovenian company Elan ( later AMS Flight) for the Glaser- Dirks Flugzeugbau GmbH (later DG Flugzeugbau GmbH). From the built aircraft since 1983 almost 500 pieces were delivered.

In September 2006, a production error was discovered at the spars of the wings in the repair of a damaged DG-300. This occurred in samples of other DG-300 on repeated. It was then published in April 2007 by the DG Flugzeugbau GmbH, a technical communication that the operating limits of the aircraft have been reduced or, alternatively, to examine the wing spars and possibly repair are. The latter, however, is so expensive that in general the new operating limits are accepted.
Versions
Besides the standard version, the DG-300 Elan Club were offered ( without blow ) and the aerobatic DG-300 Elan Acro, there was also for the club version optionally also a non- retractable landing gear. Beginning of the 1990s, the DG- 300 was modified for DG- 303. New was the following:
- New hood lock / Roeger hook as DG- 800
- Modified airfoil
- New backrest with integrated headrest
Shortly thereafter, the manufacturers operating ELAN or AMS also took over distribution of the aircraft, DG-Flugzeugbau was for Germany representatives. We sold the same versions as of the DG -300. After some time, AMS replaced the blow-out by one point belt. In early 2006, the 510th and final DG- 303 was completed as planned AMS, instead the shutters tailor to produce LS -4.
Under the type designation GG300 since the end of 2005, there is a private, accredited in Germany Conversion of a DG- 300 for non- self-launching glider with fold- solo -2350 - auxiliary engine and Oehler - folding propeller ( Turbo or Turbo Engine ).
