Głębinów

Głębinów ( German Glumpenau ) is a town in the rural community of Nysa ( Neisse ) in Poland. It is located in powiat Nyski (Kreis Neisse ) in the Opole Voivodeship.

Geography

The place is located four kilometers west of the city of Nysa on the left bank of the Glatzer Neisse. The upper village was above the shore edge in 210 m above sea level, the river valley was the sub- village (190 m asl). This is since the damming of the river in 1969 from Jezioro Nyskie ( Neisser reservoir), which is also referred to as Jezioro Głębinowskie covered.

History

After the founding charter of 1310 18 Flemish hooves an older Slavic settlement were exposed to German law in Glumpengov. The farm property had been created in the form of Frankish homesteads. According to the " Liber fundationis episcopaius Vratislaviensis " had the place 36 Huben, 2 taverns and 1 mill with 2 wheels. The lower village was often haunted by the Neisse high water; a dam protected it later only temporarily.

1428 investigated the Hussites, the village home; In 1633 there was the plague. During the siege of Neisse in 1807 enemy troops in place ever held on.

In 1731 a chapel under the patronage of St.. Urban consecrated for worship in winter. This was in 1866 replaced by a church in the Gothic Revival style. Since 1923, the place was an independent Kuratie. 1784 there was a school master's house. The two-story school house dates from 1857. In 1925, 96 children attended the three-class school.

In the village there were 1937 two bakers, two fishermen, three guest houses, two general stores, a timber merchant, a gravel dredging, two basket-maker, a restoration, a blacksmith, a tailor, a shoemaker and an electricity cooperative.
