Glin, County Limerick

Glin ( Irish: An Gleann ) is a town in County Limerick in the southwest of Ireland.

Glin is located in the extreme north- west County Limerick, near the border with County Kerry, on the southern bank of the estuary of the River Shannon. The place is between Foynes in the east and seven kilometers from Tarbert on the west by the national road N69.

The population of the town was established in the Census 2006, 566 persons; for the urban area, the number amounted to 1208 people.

The present Glin Castle, more accurately referred to as a Georgian house, was built in 1780-1790; Today it houses a luxury hotel. There are also the remains of the first, already constructed around 1200 the castle.
