The Glinze is a right tributary of the Dosse in the Brandenburg region Ostprignitz. The length of the semi-natural stream is approximately 13.5 kilometers, the catchment area is some 75 km ².

Course

The Glinze originates northeast of Blesendorf, in the municipality of the Holy Sepulchre in Ostprignitz - Ruppin. In the same area is the source of Dömnitz who turns to the southwest and the Stepenitz flows. The Glinze runs in the opposite direction to the southeast, reached the village Zaatzke and then allowing the places Glienicke and Jabel lie to the south. These three villages are now as districts to the Holy Sepulchre. After passing under the motorway 19, the Glinze reached the city Wittstock / Dosse and flows south of the old Wittstock near the Old Bishop's Castle and the Swedish stone in the Dosse.

Glinzmauer in Wittstock

The last piece leads the Glinze by the listed Friedrich Ebert Park, whose path network is applied to the stream around. The paths and a large part of the tree population come from the period around 1925. The Glinze flows parallel to the southeastern part of the preserved and restored city wall, which partly goes back to the 14th century and surrounds the town center on a length of 2.5 kilometers. In the southeast part of the mounting ring or the inner lane bears the name of the creek the name Glinzmauer.
