Global Certification Forum

The Global Certification Forum (abbreviation: GCF) is an interest group of mobile phone manufacturers, mobile network operators and test service providers.

It is connected with the global GSM Association as well as the standardization organization European Telecommunications Standards Institute (ETSI ) and the 3rd Generation Partnership Project (3GPP ). The Community's objective is to ensure the operability of mobile phones based on the GSM or UMTS standard through the implementation of standardized tests and the subsequent certification of the device. The motto of the GCF is: English " Tested once ... accepted by all! " ( German: " Once tested ... accepted by all " )

Parallel to the GCF, there is the PCS Type Certification Review Board ( PTCRB ), which performs the same duties for the North American region.
