Geography
Glött is located in the Region of Augsburg.
There is only the district and the district Glött Heudorf. The former village Glöttweiler has grown together with structurally Glött.
History
Castle and village Glött were acquired in 1537 by Anton Fugger. The town was the seat of the rule of the Counts Fugger Glött ( rule Glött ).
With the Act of Confederation in 1806 the place came to the Kingdom of Bavaria, the Fugger Glött submitted to 1806 voluntarily. In the course of administrative reform in Bavaria, was born with the congregation of 1818, the current community. Castle Glött remained until 1869 Fugger possession.

On the territory of the municipality were 1970 956, 1987, 1099 and 2000 counted 1130 inhabitants in the year.
Policy
In the local elections of 2002 and 2008 accounted for all the twelve seats on the unit list CSU / CWV. Mayor since 1990 Käßmeyer Friedrich (CSU / Christian constituency association ).
