Care in the aquarium

The Rubinbärbling is to be kept in soft, acidic to moderately hard, slightly alkaline water well and also to breed. Within a flock, the dominant male is much more colorful than the other males. The male chooses the spawning ground in delicate plants and tries to attract the females by showing the flanks to the spawning ground. If the act of mating was successful, slip out of the little clutches ( about 50 eggs) the larvae after 3 days and swim freely after a further 4 days. From that date the parent animals should be removed so that the offspring does not end as live food. The preferred temperature is 22 ° - 24 ° degrees ° C, but can Danio choprae well tolerated higher temperatures. If the animals are well fed they spawn regularly every 10 days.
