The glutaminases (L- Glutaminamidohydrolasen ) are enzymes from the group of amidases (also amidohydrolases ), consisting of the amino acid glutamine uptake of water (H2O) and the release of ammonia (NH3) produce glutamate. Glutaminases found in nerve and glial cells of all higher organisms and are characterized by phosphate and calcium ions (Ca2 ) activated.
