Gmina Åšwierklany

Świerklany ( German Schwirklan ) is a rural municipality in the powiat Rybnicki in Silesia, Poland. The seat of the municipality is the village land Jankowice Rybnickie.

Geography

The community Świerklany located 42 km south-west of Katowice and 10 km south of Rybnik. The municipality has a surface area of 24.02 km ². Of this 62 percent is used for agriculture and 15 per cent is covered by forest.

History

Jankowice Rybnickie since the end of 1999 the seat of the municipality was previously the seat in Świerklany Górne.

From 1975 - 1998 the village belonged to Katowice Voivodeship.

Sołectwo

The community consists of three sołectwo 's ( Schulz offices):

  • Jankowice Rybnickie (Royal Janko joke )
  • Świerklany Dolne (low Schwirklan ) and
  • Świerklany Górne (Upper Schwirklan ).

Education

The municipality has three kindergartens ( Przedszkole ), three primary schools ( szkoła podstawowa ) and two middle schools ( gimnazjum ). Likewise, the municipality has a public library.
