The breakpoint Göbelnrod is located at kilometer 20.3 of the leading casting to Fulda bird mountain railway. The station building is now a historical monument.

History

It was not until 39 years after the commissioning of the first section of the bird mountain railway from Gießen to Green Mountain on December 29, 1869 Göbelnrod received a breakpoint. It was opened on 1 July 1908. The first timetable foresaw five passenger holding in the direction of Fulda and four towards casting.

In the 1970s, the staff was removed in the course of rationalization measures. The proposed demolition of the station building was able to take over by the commitment of the city Grünberg, maintenance and servicing of the system, be averted. In the fall of 2011, the 140 m long platform was replaced by a new building of equal length.

Building

For the State Conservation Office Hesse the station building is considered because of its traffic historical significance as a cultural monument of historical reasons.

Traffic

Göbelnrod is located in the tariff area of the Rhine -Main Transport Association ( RMV). The regional train the bird mountain railway is operated since the timetable change 2011/2012 on 11 December 2011 by the Hessian State Railways ( HLB).
