Jackson - Weaver (Ploceus jacksoni )

The Jackson - Weaver (Ploceus jacksoni ), also written Jackson Weber, is a species in the family of weaver birds. The species is occasionally kept as an ornamental bird in Europe.

Description

The Jackson -Weber reaches a body length of 15 centimeters. The male has a black head and neck. The front chest is black and then turns into reddish brown. The back is yellow, the elytra and wings are black. The individual feathers have broad yellow hems. In females, the elytra and wings are dashed black and yellow. The head and the underside is yellowish white.

Jackson -Weber hang their nests on branches of bushes and trees that hang similar to Gilbweber usually over a body of water. Nests of Jackson -Weber are also often among the reeds and grasses near lakes, swamps or mangroves. The nest consists of two to three eggs whose shell color is blue-green.

The distribution area of Jackson Weber extends from southern Sudan via Uganda to the west of Kenya and the central country of Tanzania.
