Goode homolosine projection

The Goode projection is a pseudozylindrischer, equal-area map network design, which is used to display world maps. This method of map projection was developed by John Paul Goode.

In this mathematically constructed image of the central meridian and all parallels are straight lines. To obtain the surface fidelity, the map image is either cut or severely deformed at the edges. The northern part of the map is a Mollweide, the southern part is a Sinusoidal projection.
