Googoosh

Googoosh [ ɡuɡu ː ʃ ] ( born May 5, 1950 in Tehran, real name Faegheh Atashin ) is an Iranian singer and actress. She played in several Iranian films of the 1960s and 1970s.

In addition to Iran, she was well known and popular in countries of the Iranian highlands in Central Asia, such as Afghanistan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, also in Azerbaijan and Turkey and in other countries of the Near and Middle East. Biography

Googoosh was born as the daughter of Azerbaijani immigrants in Tehran. At the age of three years was Googoosh with her father Saber Atashin even acrobat and artists on stage and quickly became a child star. Early 60s inspired the song Googooshs Iranian composers to a new style of Iranian pop music, a mixture of Persian poetry and among other things Blues, jazz, Latin, rock and disco music.
