Göran Tunström

Göran Tunström ( born May 14, 1937 in Karlstad, † February 5, 2000 in Stockholm) was a Swedish writer.

Life

Tunström was born in Karlstad and grew up in Sunne, Värmland.

In his hometown Many of his novels. His father was a pastor and died when Göran Tunström was young. The author himself lived for many years in Stockholm, and died there in 2000. As one of the most famous writers of his country to him many important prizes were awarded. He was, for example, 1984 Literature Prize of the Nordic Council and the 1987 Selma Lagerlöf - prize.

The novel The Moon drinkers plays in Iceland. There the young Pétur grows up with his widowed father Halldór. The mother, a loner metallic volcanologist with a clear tendency to mysticism, which somehow more of a fairy ( an elf? ) Is similar as a people, never disappeared under unclear circumstances during a volcanic eruption of Hekla. The father -son relationship is initially very loving, but of working in broadcasting father also calls for all kinds of his son.
