Gordon Bennett (bishop)

Gordon Dunlap Bennett SJ ( born October 21, 1946 in Denver, Colorado) is an American clergyman of the Roman Catholic Church and retired Bishop of Mandeville, Jamaica.

Life

Gordon Dunlap Bennett joined the Congregation of the Jesuits and received on 14 June 1975, the ordination. Pope John Paul II appointed him auxiliary bishop on 23 December 1997 in Baltimore and Titular Bishop of Nesqually.

The Archbishop of Baltimore, Cardinal William Henry Keeler, donated to him on March 3 of the same year the episcopal ordination; Were co-consecrators Carlos Arthur Sevilla, SJ, Bishop of Yakima and George Vance Murry, SJ, Auxiliary Bishop of Chicago.

The Pope appointed him on 6 July 2004 as Bishop of Mandeville. From his office he resigned on August 8, 2006.
