Gordon Dailley

Gordon Debenham Dailley ( born July 24, 1911 in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, † May 3, 1989 in Cambridge, Ontario, Canada ) was a British professional ice hockey player in 1936 with his compatriot Olympic champion among others.

Career

Gordon Dailley began his career as a hockey player in 1933 in the UK, where it ran aground on the Grosvenor House Canadians. From 1935 to 1937 he played for the Wembley Lions and then from 1937 to 1939 for the Wembley Monarchs. During the Second Weltrkriegs Dailley joined the Canadian Forces. Later he was in the Korean war in use and in 1955 the Canadian military attaché in Yugoslavia. In the following years, he served as commander of a military base in New Brunswick.

Internationally

For UK Dailley participated in the World Championships in 1935, 1937, 1938 and 1939. He also represented his country at the 1936 Winter Olympics in Garmisch -Partenkirchen, where he won the gold medal with his team. The tournament was also counted as World and European Championships, which is why he also won with his team this title. He was inducted posthumously as all other members of the Olympic team of 1936 in the British Ice Hockey Hall of Fame in 1993.
