Górsko, West Pomeranian Voivodeship

Górsko ( German: Görshagen ) is a village in the extreme northeast of the Polish West Pomeranian Voivodeship and is part of the rural community Postomino ( Pustamin ) in a circle Sławno ( Schlawe ).

Geographical location

Górsko located 18 kilometers north of Sławno on a side street off Sławno on Staniewice ( Stemnitz ) Postomino ( Pustamin ) and Marszewo ( Marsow ) leads directly to the Baltic Sea coast. The village is situated in a valley east of Jezioro Wicko ( Vietzker lake ) at a height of six meters above sea level. By 1945 Schlackow was (now Polish Złakowo ) railway station on the railroad track Schlawe - Stolpmünde.

Górsko is in the west of Królewo ( Krolow ) and the Jezioro Wicko ( formerly here was the now non-existent place Krolowstrand, Polish: Królewice ), in the north of the Baltic Sea, to the east by Złatowskie Błota ( Schlackower Moor ) and in the south of the villages Złakowo ( Schlackow ) and Marszewo ( Marsow ) bounded.

Place name

The origin of the name Görshagen is not released. Probably is, the village named after its founder George.

History

In 1480 Görshagen is called for the first time will have passed but much earlier. Since ancient times, probably from the estate of Swenzonen, it is a Puttkamer cal fief. 1818 lived in Görshagen 249 inhabitants. Their number rose to 320 in 1885 and 1939, amounted to 253 It was in official and civil registry district Schlackow and in the District Court area Schlawe.

On March 8, 1945, the occupation of the site was carried out by the Red Army. By 1946, the German population was expelled. Görshagen is now called Górsko and is part of the gmina Postomino in powiat Slawienski the West Pomeranian Voivodeship ( to 1998 Voivodeship Stolp ).

Church

Before 1945, the population of Görshagen predominantly Protestant denomination was. The village belonged - as well Schlackow ( Złakowo ) - Parish Marsow ( Marszewo ) in the parish of Rügenwalde ( Darłowo ) in the ecclesiastical province of the Church of the Old Prussian Pomerania Union. From 1928 the parish Marsow remained unoccupied, and the church took care of the parish priest of Pustamin ( Postomino ).

Since 1945 the inhabitants of Górsko are almost invariably Catholic. Marszewo continues parish seat, but the church is now a branch church of the parish Postomino and is part of the Dean's Office Ustka ( Stolpmünde ) in the Diocese of Koszalin - Kolobrzeg of the Catholic Church in Poland. Protestant church members are today the parish Slupsk ( Stolp ) in the Diocese of Pomerania - Greater Poland the Evangelical-Augsburg Church in Poland assigned.

School

Already in 1784 a schoolmaster is mentioned in Görshagen. Until 1945, there was a class elementary school teacher's house.
