Goshūi Wakashū

Goshūi - Wakashū ( Japanese:后 拾遗 和 歌集also:后 拾遗 集Goshūishū, dt about Late gleaning ) is a waka anthology from the Heian period of Japan. It was compiled in 1086 on the orders of Tennō Shirakawa ( 1073-1129 ). The compiler of the anthology was Fujiwara no Michitoshi ( 1047-1099 ). The anthology includes 20 rolls with a total of 1,220 Waka. A considerable part of the poems were written by women. The name of Late gleaning stems from the fact that the anthology follows the Shui Wakashū.
