Gosport

Gosport is a port city in the county of Hampshire in southern England, and is situated on a peninsula opposite the city of Portsmouth on the English Channel.

History

To include shipbuilding industry and light industry. In the Napoleonic Wars, they served as an important naval base. During World War II Gosport was badly damaged by German air raids. 1944, the city was a port of departure for the landing of the Allies in northern France.
