Gößnitzkopf

The Gößnitzkopf ( 3096 m above sea level. A. ) is a mountain peak in the Schober group on the border between East Tyrol and Carinthia ( Austria ). It lies on the border between the municipalities Nussdorf- Debant and Heiligenblut at the Grossglockner. Adjacent peaks are the Southern and Northern Talleitenspitze in the north-northwest.

The Gößnitzkopf is a little -known peak on the border between Carinthia and East Tyrol. He is the highest point of a Felsgrates above the Goessnitz Charter, which is crossed on the way between the Lienz hut and the Elberfelder Hütte. The normal ascent to the Gößnitzkopf done by the Lienz hut on the Goessnitz Charter on the eastern flank of the Goessnitz head. About rock and scree of the unmarked path leads through the east-side flank, where the south-east of Goessnitz head is reached just before the summit. The final climb has the difficulty I. Another way to climb the Gößnitzkopf, is the rise of the Goessnitz lip directly over the ridge, but having difficulty levels from II to III, and makes a lifeline advisable.
