Gottfried Kunz

Gottfried Kunz ( born December 12, 1859 in Zauggenried; † January 5, 1930 in Bern, reformed, hometown entitled in Diemtigen ) was a Swiss politician ( FDP).

Life

Gottfried Kunz came on 12 December 1859 in Zauggenried as the son of the schoolmaster Jakob Kunz to the world. After Gottfried Kunz had completed her teacher training in Münchenbuchsee 1875-1878, he was first employed since 1878 as a primary school teacher in Bueren an der Aare. As a result, he took 1881-1884 to study law at the University of Bern. After the acquisition of the Notary Kunz led from 1885 first a notary's office, and finally in 1890 a law office in Biel.

He was with Hortense, the daughter of a representative of Czech textile company Adolf Conrad from Diesse married. Gottfried Kunz died on January 5, 1930 almost 70 -year-old in Bern.

Political career

The liberal politicians Kunz represented his party 1904-1912 as Finance Director in the Bernese cantonal government. In addition, he belonged from 1907 to 1919 on the Senate, which he was Chairman of December 2, 1912 to December 1, 1913.

In addition, Kunz had directorships of various industrial companies and railways held, such as the Bernese power plants or the Swiss National Bank. In addition, he served 1912-1928 as Chairman of the BLS Lötschberg Bahn AG (BLS ).

Gottfried Kunz distinguished himself mainly as a Bernese railway politicians. So he led the nationalization and merger of the Bernese Alps track, starting in 1906 under the name of BLS, and promoted the Lötschberg rail project by securing financing.
