The idol height is a mountain north of Zschopau. It reaches a height of 493.3 m above sea level. HN.

Location

The hilltop is located east of the road between Zschopau and Witzschdorf. He rises to the east about 200 m to the Zschopautal, to the south about 150 meters from the Truschbach Valley, west 100 meters to the valley of the brook Gornauer and northward just 50 m above the top local situation of Witzschdorf.

Geology

The mountain is located in the transition zone of gneiss and mica schist with several intercalated lenses of quartzite slate that was mined in a quarry. The spread of the quarry almost 200 m deep canyon on the southeastern flank of the mountain was formed, which is filled mostly today.

Accessibility

The idol height is accessed by several hiking trail. From the access road Zschopau Witzschdorf you can reach the height of the water houses on the street. There also exist parking. From Witzschdorf and Zschopau from the height above the so-called Leichenweg be reached. Along the way, the height is located immediately south of a shelter. From Gornau you reach the mountain over the mountain heath, of Dittmannsdorf via the so-called thief climbing. In winter also lead past some trails on the ridge.

North

In the north you can see the lower Zschopautal with Henner village and Erdmannsdorf, perched above the Augustus castle with the same city. East

South
