Goudet

Goudet is a French village with 58 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2011 ) in the Haute- Loire in the Auvergne region; it belongs to Arrondissement Le Puy -en -Velay and the District of Le Mona animal -sur- Gazeille.

History

To a 850 Hermitage was founded in what is now the district of Le Clos, which was later destroyed. In the 13th century Goudet received with the Château de Beaufort, a fortress that was destroyed during the Hundred Years War and rebuilt in the 15th century.

Beaufort Castle

The Beaufort castle is the second castle on the Loire to the Arlempdes. It lies on the banks of the Loire and on a creek called La Fouragette on a rock, so that all roads of Goudet were dominated by him. Owners of the castle were the lords of Beaufort, this even in the 18th century. Beginning of the 19th century, the plant was left to decay, without being already destroyed during the Revolution. Today, there are only a few of the building walls, but still let the see the floor plan - the stones of the building were used by the inhabitants of the town for their own new buildings.

Since 2000, parts of the ruin to be renovated, consolidated the rest.
