Goudoumaria is a rural municipality and the capital of the eponymous department Goudoumaria in Niger.

Geography

Goudoumaria located in the Sahel region and is bordered to the south by the neighboring state of Nigeria. The neighboring communities in Niger are N'Guelbély in the northeast, Maïné - Soroa in the east, Boune the southwest, Gouré in the west and trowel in the northwest. The municipality is divided into 193 administrative villages, 146 traditional villages, 54 hamlets, 167 warehouses and 33 water points. The main town of the country church is the administrative village Goudoumaria. In the dunes of Goudoumaria there are several oases that benefit from the low water table.

History

Goudoumaria was in the first half of the 19th century established in a previously uninhabited area, among others, inhabitants of the village Kaoura, which was located near Gouré and has since disappeared.
