Goupitan Dam

The Goupitan Dam is a 232.5 meter high arch dam that is being built in China on Wu Jiang River and was completed in 2011.

The dam of Guizhou Goupitan Hydro will have a hydroelectric power plant with a capacity of 3000 ( 5 × 600) MW. To be generated 9.192 billion kWh per year.

The storage space is given in different sources with 6,455 or 6,380 million m³.

The dam also serves the flood control and navigability. To be transported by ship on the Wujiang 2.928 million tons per year. It is expected that 25,300 people have to be relocated if the reservoir is impounded.
