GPE

The GPE Palmtop Environment ( GPE ) is a free GUI environment running on a GNU / Linux operating system for PDAs.

GPE uses the X Window system and GTK . Among the devices currently supported are, for example, the Compaq iPAQ and the Sharp Zaurus.

GPE is not a single piece of software but a complete desktop environment, composed of components which allows a GNU / Linux PDA for standard tasks from the area of ​​Personal Information Management ( PIM) use. In addition, GPE provides developers with the necessary infrastructure. In addition to providing system libraries GPE also sets standards for the interaction of programs such as SQL, XML and other data structures.
